Publication Ethics for Authors
At EarthCanvas Journal, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics, following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are expected to adhere to the following principles:
- Originality: Submissions must be original and free from plagiarism (maximum 20% similarity allowed).
- Exclusivity: Manuscripts must not be published or under consideration elsewhere.
- Quality: Submissions should be free from spelling, grammatical, and formatting errors.
- Ethical Research: Studies must be conducted responsibly and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Honesty in Reporting: Results must be presented accurately—without fabrication, falsification, or data manipulation.
- Transparency: Methods should be described clearly to allow verification and reproducibility.
- Accuracy and Integrity: All content must be factual, unbiased, and complete.
- Decency and Legality: Content must not be misleading, offensive, defamatory, or promote illegal or harmful activities.
- Data Security: Submissions must not contain or distribute malware or malicious code.
- Proper Attribution: Credit must be given for all borrowed data, ideas, or materials, with permissions obtained where required.
- Copyright Compliance: Authors must follow applicable copyright laws and include acknowledgments for reused content.
- Authorship Transparency: The specific contributions of all authors must be clearly stated.
- Privacy Protection: Personally identifiable information of others must not be shared without explicit consent.
